A compulsive news junkie who fancied herself immune to the perils of such ideological bunkers, I fell into one too.
We naturally seek out news and information from sources we trust – and we should continue to do that. But we are also all wired to sometimes slip into an echo chamber. It’s cozy in there. And everyone is so damn smart, with the BEST views, and the BEST opinions, right?
For us obsessives, or for anyone with a penchant to extol your wisdom to others (often unsolicited), it’s a good habit to stretch your consumption across a variety of reputable sources. There’s a good chance you’re parroting a view with partisan lobbyist undertones, you are unaware of.
So before calling out Fox News viewers as zombie sheep, check your own bias.
